Roads close as Navy marches on

Organisation is well underway for Sunday’s 100th birthday celebrations for the Navy.
A march and ceremony will be held at Kingscliff cenotaph from 10am.
Tweed Mayor Kevin Skinner, State Member for Tweed Geoff Provest and Cr Warren Polglase will be attending and laying wreaths.
To prepare for the march, Marine Parade and Turnock Street, Kingscliff will be closed from 9.45am on Sunday until about 10.20am whilst the White Ensign is paraded to the cenotaph.
The Kingscliff RSL Sub Branch is hoping to have as many sailors, past and present, marching with the ensign.
The Training Ship Vampire Drum Corps will provide the music and the White Ensign will replace the Australian Flag for the day.
A lunch will be held at the Surf Club after the march.
