There were people from all across the Tweed and from all sorts of businesses as the Tweed’s peak tourism body, Destination Tweed, held its first ever speed-marketing event at Babalou Restaurant, Kingscliff last week.
The 62 participants, all armed with business cards, were all busily networking during the two-hour event, described by some as speed-dating for businesses.
The event was the brainchild of Destination Tweed Tourism Marketing Co-ordinator Emma Cao.
Emma said the afternoon was an opportunity for local business people to connect with each other and forge new business relationships.
“People are really time poor these days and are looking for the most efficient way to use their time,” she said.
After spending several months putting the event together, Emma said it was “great to see it all come together”.
She said, given the success of the afternoon, Destination Tweed would definitely look at running more events like this one.
