MGMT are coming to the Falls at Byron Bay and they’re looking for a little help!
The American rock band, founded by Benjamin Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden, will play the Falls at Byron (OK, it’s really Yelgun but let’s not confuse the interstaters).
With their giant throwback psychedelic visuals, full live band – they will be playing tunes from their new self-titled album as well their masses of hits and crowd favourites.
Get ready to transcend and transport not only that – maybe get ready to become part of the show.
They’re calling on a lucky ticket holder to join them on stage and help play an instrument at each of the Falls locations for the song ‘Your Life Is A Lie’.
The instrument in question is a monstrously huge cowbell that looks like it would be more at home hanging round the neck of Godzilla. The audience member will wield a giant drumstick, punctuating each 4/4 bar with an almighty clonk.
So how do you win? Well, we’re glad you asked.
Boogie Nights is the first night of each Falls event and it’s a fancy dress affair, the theme this year is INTERGALACTIC. Falls will be holding a ‘Best Dressed’ competition on this opening festival celebration at the below times and locations and the winner in the will find themselves onstage in the main arena with MGMT!
