TWEED’S peak tourism body Destination Tweed has headed to the net to promote the region and it’s hoping local businesses will join them.
The organisation wants the new website www.destinationtweed.com.au to list every Tweed tourism operator from the Queensland border to Wooyung and the Tweed Coast and Tweed Valley.
Marketing manager Emma Cao said the organisation was offering extra incentive for groups to become involved with one lucky Tweed business owner and a friend or partner set to wing their way to Singapore.
“Not only do they get the chance to win the trip to Singapore, they can promote their business on our new website for free,” Ms Cao said.
“The process only takes a few minutes and staff from Destination Tweed can assist if they have any difficulties loading their information.
“The website has been designed to be as user-friendly as possible. We are always looking for ways to streamline the process so we welcome any feedback.
“Users will also have the opportunity to log-in at any time throughout the year to update their details so they can keep their business profile fresh and informative,” she said.
All types and styles of accommodation are covered on the website from backpacker stays, to hotels, resorts, eco operators and B&Bs. Tour operators, attractions and conference and wedding venues can also list on the site for free.
Ms Cao said being found on a website that focused on promoting positive aspects of the region and was dedicated to strategically marketing the Tweed to visitors could only help local operators.
“Destination Tweed’s role is to market and promote tourism in the Tweed nationally and internationally, as well as being actively involved in planning for the future development of tourism in our region,” Ms Cao said.
“Our website is fully optimised and gets thousands of visitors each month, all of whom are actively searching for places to stay and things to do when they come to the Tweed.
“By increasing our content and collaborating with our local operators, we are better able to showcase everything our region has to offer and present a much broader picture of the scope and diversity we offer. The site is designed to influence people’s choices before they travel and also while they are here.”
Operators can add their details to the website by going to www.destinationtweed.com.au and registering their business information.
Every day during the month of December, one lucky Tweed operator that lists their business on the website will be randomly chosen to go in the draw for the tickets to Singapore. The daily prize winner will also receive a voucher or prize valued between $20-$100.
All daily winners will go into the major prize draw for two return tickets to Singapore flying Scoot Airlines valued at $1600. The major draw will take place on Monday 13 January. (*Terms and conditions apply.)
