Kingscliff women in the pink

Kingscliff women will be in the pink at the annual Girls Night In at Cudgen Leagues Club on October 23.
The event is being organised by local woman Kim Telling and hosted by Mandy Nolan.
This is the fifth year Kim and her friends and family have organised the Girls Night In and it’s getting bigger and better every time.
“Last year we had 230 ladies, which had doubled from the year before. We can cater for 250, that is our goal,” she said.
And the events, organised as part of breast cancer awareness month and benefitting the Cancer Council, have been a real money spinner.
“Our total raised is $28,777.32,” she said.
“This year we are asking everyone for support to reach our goal of over $14,000.
“The Cancer Council has arranged an online secure site with all donations directed to our grand total by logging onto www.girlsnightin.com.au click on find an event (bottom of page). Click NSW, type in participant’s name Kim Telling. All online donations go into the draw to win a $50 Jakes Cafe & Bar Kingscliff or $50 Kmart Voucher.”
Kim said it was her daughters Taylor and Brittany and their best friend Bronte, then all aged 12, who inspired her to organise the event.
“The girls suggested it after seeing the advertising as it meant having fun for a good cause. They have helped run the event every year,” she said.
“Last year we had over 230 ladies attend, and it was great seeing them having a great time and making new friends whilst raising money for a very important cause which gets allocated for much needed services on the Tweed.
“It has also proven to be beneficial to the local businesses, with the ladies buying new outfits, having hair and nails done, spraytans and a lot of women travel, so they stay in accommodation  – this is all great incentive that keeps us motivated.”
Tickets $65, available from Illusions by the Sea Hair and Beauty, Marine Parade, Kingscliff.
