THE Ducks will fly at Kingscliff on Sunday for the second annual Kingscliff Rotary Duck Race. Almost 1000 small rubber ducks and close to 100 larger corporate ducks will take to the Cudgen Creek as part of the club’s major event for the year. Club President Nathan Williams (pictured with the new “duck cam” and some of the competitors), said the event, named Best Community and Social Service event at Saturday night’s BEATS Awards (Business Excellence Awards Tweed Shire) was growing well. The event will start at 9am with stand up paddle and kayak races before the corporate ducks (decorated by local businesses) hit the water. The event will be held at Ed Parker Rotary Park, with all money raised going to the Cudgen Headland Surf Life Saving Club and The Rotary Club of Kingscliff Park Project. Picture: TANIA PHILLIPS
