KINGSCLIFF businesses have dominated the Business Excellence Awards Tweed Shire (BEATS) held at the Tweed Civic Centre on Saturday night.
Backed by the Combined Chambers of the Tweed, the event awarded all facets of business from best customer service right through to best hair and beauty and best community and Social Services.
The overall award for Best Business on the Tweed went to the SAE Group – specialising in providing safe, reliable solar power systems at top quality standards. The group also won the Best Trade, Construction and Primary Industries Award while the very popular Billabong Swim School, based at Tweed, took out both the Customer Service Award and People’s Choice.
However it really was the Tweed Coast’s night to shine with top honours going to; Kingscliff Rotary Club – best Community and Social Service Award, Katmandu Kitchen in Marine Parade – Best Café and Restaurant Award, Cudgen Leagues Club – Best Pub or Club, ice-cream makers Tango Gelato – Best Retail Award, Summerland Credit Union – Professional Services, Education and Training Award, Gillian Grove’s Kingscliff Arts – Best Creative Services, and The Tweed Foodie Fest – Best Tweed Event. The Tourism and Accomodation Award went to Aria Events and Entertainment run by Tweed Coast Weekly columnist and Kingscliff Chamber head Jayne Henry.
Kingscliff Chamber president and award-winner Jayne Henry said the evening had been a success for local businesses.
“Anything that shines a bright light on our local businesses is encouraging,” she said.
“We have a great business community and it is deserving of recognition for their excellence in service and the products they sell.
“The Kingscliff and District Chamber of Commerce cannot stress enough to the greater community, that it is imperative to shop and support local!
“We need to consider the future of our children when we shop and considering the success of our Kingscliff business community at the BEATS Awards on the weekend, we have some of the best business that the Tweed has to offer.”
