Mother’s day embraced at Centaur

The second Sunday of May has become the most popular day of the year to dine out, and telephone lines record their highest traffic, as sons and daughters everywhere take advantage of this day to honour and to express appreciation of their mothers.
Centaur Primary, along with the Banora Point Salvation Army, offered their appreciation to Mums last week, spoiling them with a delicious morning tea, while students entertained with rehearsed songs and dance.
When asked what is so special about their mums, many students responded with various answers that embraced all that mothers do. From ‘Mum doesn’t burn my dinner’ to a simple ‘because she is my Mum’. Regardless of reason, it is clear that motherhood is indeed appreciated.
So, for all the mums who have spent endless sleepless nights changing nappies, who’ve cooked dinner while sewing costumes together, run carpools and hung priceless art collections on their refrigerator doors, for those who have sat in the cold watching sports games, read one last book before bed and taught their children to tie their shoelaces before school, we at Centaur Primary thank you!
