BOBBY Alu and his band are finally launching the highly anticipated new album ‘Take it Slow’.
The new album is a mix of Island soul, Afro rhythms, smooth harmony, coconuts, pop and good vibes.
The talented Queenslander has taken the Australian roots music scene by storm.
His third ever gig was an invitation to the 2011 Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival alongside the likes of Bob Dylan and BB King. Backed by his hot band, Bobby has enjoyed repeat performance invitations at Byron Blues Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and Island Vibe.
Bobby Alu, joined by highly respected musicians including Paulie B (The Beautiful Girls, George), gained instant notoriety with a Queensland Music Award, a showcase at AWME (Australasian World Music Expo), a semi-finalist award in the International Songwriting Comp, numerous major national festival performances and support slots with music heavyweights The Beautiful Girls, Blue King Brown and Katchafire.
His debut self-titled album sparked immediately after after being listed in Triple J Roots ‘N’ All ‘Top 10 albums of 2010’.
More recently the album peaked at number two in the iTunes Aus world music charts.
‘Take it Slow’ is the band’s eagerly anticipated second album that has just been released which fans have been waiting patiently for, especially after the recent sell-out single launch packing venues out across the country.
