Thanksgiving service

By TANIA PHILLIPS

A NATIONAL Day of Thanksgiving Church service will be held on Sunday at  St.Cuthbert`s Anglican Church, corner Florence and Powell Streets, Tweed Heads.
Organiser Bob Ayscough said the service, to be held at 9am, was a unique opportunity to celebrate and give thanks to our God-given heritage as a nation.
“A chance to demonstrate the God-given values of honour, respect, thankfulness and gratitude towards our fellow man that have made us the great nation we are today,” he said.
“It is a day for us to pause and say thankyou to God and to each other for those many things we often take for granted but which really make our lives worth living. Let this day be a blessing to those that have been a blessing to us during the past year.:
The service is open to all emergency and community organisations, their families and friends along with residents of the Tweed in general and visitors to our district in particular.
Fr Kevin Bourke will be Celebrant and Preacher and will be supported by St Cuthbert`s Choir. Refreshments will be served in St Cuthbert`s Parish Centre after the service
