On Monday, June 6, Kirra Sports Club experienced an armed robbery with the manager being held at gun point.
The small club had $26,477 stolen and only $10,000 is covered by insurance. As you can imagine, this is a devastating blow to the club. The club was already struggling, due to the economy.
The Kirra Sports Club has organised a weekend of fundraising on Friday, June 24 through to Sunday, June 26.
On Friday night, June 24, the club will hold upstairs-downstairs events.
Upstairs will be a ladies’ night with live music, raffles, auctions and wine tasting; while downstairs there will be live music, raffles, auction and football on the big screen.
On Sunday it will all come together for a family fun day with live entertainment from noon, raffles, jumping castle and a barbecue.
