Bogangar duo does school proud

By TANIA PHILLIPS

IT is a rare feat for a school to have someone nominated for the National Excellence in Teaching Awards for inspirational educators and two from school is just about unheard of.

However, two nominations is just what Tweed Coast School, Bogangar, has in the awards to be announced later in the year.
Bogangar Public School principal Cath Lalor and assistant principal (relieving) and classroom teacher Lauren Hankinson were nominated for this award by members of the school community in appreciation of their dedication to their students’ education.
The National Excellence in Teaching Awards (NEiTA) program, supported by the Australian Scholarships Group (ASG) gives communities the opportunity to formally thank their hard-working and inspirational educators and leaders.
Cath Lalor said they were both honoured by this nomination and wished to thank those involved for their kind nomination. Award winners will be announced in November.
She said it was quite an honour for the small Tweed Coast School in general to receive two nominations.
Bogangar Public School is now accepting enrolments for Kindergarten 2014.
Please contact the school for an enrolment information pack on 02 66762755, visit our website www.bogangarpublicschool.com and follow us on twitter @Bogangar_PS and Instagram #bpschool.
