Police inquiries continue after two cleaners were assaulted during a robbery at Cabarita Beach Sports Club on Saturday morning.
Up to five men forced entry to the sports club on Cabarita Road, Cabarita, just before 1am on Saturday, February 23.
The intruders confronted two male cleaners, aged 46 and 49, who were working inside the premises.
The pair were tied up by the offenders who then ransacked the club. They stole cash from the poker machines and one of the victims before fleeing the scene.
The cleaners managed to free themselves and raise the alarm.
Police from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command and NSW Ambulance Paramedics responded quickly to the incident.
Specialist forensics officers examined the crime scene and seized a number of items as evidence.
One of the victims received 14 stitches after he was struck to the head with a pool cue during the ordeal.
Local detectives are now appealing for public help as they continue their inquiries into the incident.
