On Friday, March 30 at noon, Currumbin RSL will hold a High Tea Fundraiser for White Ribbon – an organisation that works towards stopping violence towards women.
The event will be held in conjunction with the Palm Beach Neighbourhood Centre, with centre member Samatha Way and Stephen Hoskin, Male Counsellor and Ambassador for the White Ribbon Campaign, speaking briefly about issues and effects of violence against women.
PBNC supports the white ribbon campaign each year. This year they aim to expand to high schools where PBNC youth counsellor and Sergeant Debbie Phillips will run a program for the youth, which will include education and awareness about Violence Against Women.
The PBNC is not being funded for this project, so any funds raised at this High Tea will allow this important campaign to take place and increase community awareness around issues of violence, in an effort to reduce violence against women and children in the Gold Coast community.
There will be some great raffle prizes up for grabs, with all money raised donated to White Ribbon.
