Police are still searching for one of two men who were the focus of a search in Banora Point late last week.
A joint operation by NSW and Queensland Police resulted in the arrest of a man for serious indictable offences.
At 2.50pm on Thursday police from the Tweed/Byron Local Area Command arrested a 27-year-old man after a short foot pursuit.
A 21-year-old man, who was wanted by Queensland Police, evaded capture, despite a search of dense bush land in the Banora Point area, by local police using NSW Police Dog Squad and Queensland Police helicopter.
The 27-year-old has been charged in relation to outstanding warrants for robbery, armed with a dangerous weapon, and take/detain person in company with intent to obtain advantage.
It will be alleged the offences occurred in Rookwood Road at Bankstown earlier this month.
Police have continued to search the local area for the 21-year-old man who is yet to be located.
Anyone who has any information about the man or any person acting suspicious in the area, is urged to contact Tweed/Byron Local Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
