Some of the most beautiful orchids the Tweed can produce will be on display as part of next month’s Tweed District Orchid Show at Tweed City from October 13-15.
The display will be set up outside Coles and judging will take place on the Wednesday night (Oct 12) before the show opens to the public.
“All of the champion growers from our spring show at Murwillumbah earlier this month will once again be displaying their beautiful orchids,” said Society president Bob Sullivan.
“It will be a month from our last show, so there will different varieties on display and regular visitors to our shows will see a change from the previous display, but the champion growers will still provide some wonderful displays.
“Last month’s Grand Champion Mike Carmody and Reserve Champion Bruce Davies will once again be displaying a wonderful selection of orchids and could take out the titles again, although there will be some stiff competition from the many other growers’ displays.”
There will be a sales table with a large variety of orchids for orchid lovers to purchase and increase their own collections. Members will be in attendance for the three days until 4pm on the Saturday and will be available to offer advice to the many visitors expected to view the display.
