The New England Conservatorium of Music, the School of Arts and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and Arts New England at the University of New England are proud to co-present five of the finest jazz musicians in Australia, the Craig Scott Quintet (CSQ), featuring Craig Scott (double bass and Head of Jazz at the Sydney Conservatorium), Warwick Alder (Trumpet, Flugelhorn), Paul Cutlan (Tenor and Soprano Saxophones), Tim Fisher (Piano) and Tim Firth( Drums).
Formed in 2007 with a view to performing both original Australian jazz compositions and the best of the eclectic jazz tradition, CSQ will be coming to Armidale this Friday, August 3.
Appearing at The Hoskins Centre, TAS, the artists will give workshops from 4pm to 6pm, followed by a concert at 7pm. The concert will feature music written by members of CSQ, including music from their forthcoming CD Timeline, that will be available through Rufus Records, Universal and directly from them.
They will also perform music by other musical colleagues, both Australian and international. Local community/student group It and a Bit will also provide a prelude to the evening of Jazz in the Foyer, giving concert-goers a total of two hours of music.
