THE University of New England School Acquisitive Art Prize (UNESAP) and the Let’s Hang It! Exhibition opened earlier this month at the New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM).
UNESAP was established by the Faculty of Professions at UNE with the purpose of promoting interest in the visual arts and encouraging talented young artists in regional New South Wales. The program is celebrating its tenth year in 2013.
The New England Regional Art Museum continues to manage this event, and is uniquely placed to provide support to the region’s artists and schools by developing projects that engage young people and their families with the arts.
UNESAP and the Let’s Hang It! Exhibition has become an annual event on the calendar for many schools throughout regional NSW.
Preparing for entry is straight-forward, with many teachers simply creating a UNESAP folder for works from the classroom.
They add to this folder through the course of the year to create a wonderful body of student work ready for submission, showcasing the positive engagement of young people with creative arts in schools.
UNESAP opened at NERAM on 19 July and runs until 14 August.
