This Saturday the Armidale Club will host modern folk singers Joe Oppenheimer and James Fahy in a pair of intimate sets.
With strong voices on matters of youth, friends and the heart, each perfomer has a unique take on the singer-songwriter mould.
The audience will discover that this diversity is mutually complementary, upon hearing the wonderful harmonies created when they share the stage for some bigger numbers.
It was not known to locally raised Joe when, in his final year at TAS, his staunch future ally James was attending UNE, despite holding residences at the Newie and the Club (respectively).
During that time, they were not aware of each other’s presence on this Earth until meeting the following year at Canberra’s ANU.
Since then, they have played in numerous formats over the years, from indie rock to ABBA cover bands, summer festivals to garage acoustic serenades.
Having impressed crowds at the Armidale Club earlier this year while supporting the Wildes, the lads are to commandeer the piano, stage and willing observers in a sure spectacle.
They’ve travelled extensively this year and have achieved a polish that is only becoming more reflective of goodness. Be sure that a fun and engaging night is audible on the horizon.
