Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson are on the promotional trail after releasing solo albums in recent times.
Kasey Chambers’ Little Bird album was released in September 2010, debuting on the national album charts at #3 and winning four Golden Guitars at the recent Tamworth Country Music Awards, while Shane’s latest album Bad Machines comes out this month.
Kasey has just released the second single from Little Bird, Beautiful Mess, a song she wrote for her children.
“It’s a song I wrote when I was at home babysitting a friend’s one-year-old son, Townes, along with my two boys, Arlo (two) and Talon (eight),” she said of the new single.
“It was one of those chaotic days with kids running around and having lots of fun while this song was coming out. And that’s what it felt like that day – a beautiful mess. That’s what parenting constantly feels like.
“It’s specifically written for Arlo and Talon, who are the most important things in my entire life. I love them. And I have an outlet to show them that through songs.”
While Kasey has been touring right around Australia, Shane’s been at home taking care of the kids and putting the finishing touches to his brand new album Bad Machines.
Shane Nicholson headlined his own show at the 2011 Tamworth Country Music Festival, debuting tracks from the new album.
The show was a total sell-out and the talk of Tamworth as one of the great gigs of this year’s Festival, with fans and music media all eager for the release of the album on March 25 through Liberation Music.
In the coming weeks it will be Shane’s turn to hit the promotional trail and introduce the Bad Machines album to media and country music fans all around Australia.
With a couple of media launches in February leaving the media and other special guests raving about the songs of Bad Machines, the album is set to be a highlight of this year’s album releases and already has fans eagerly waiting for Shane to tour it across Australia.
The Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson double header live shows will feature Kasey’s hits and, of course, songs from Little Bird, while Shane will perform the songs off Bad Machines along with tracks from his critically acclaimed back catalogue – It’s a Movie, Faith and Science and Familiar Ghosts.
And don’t worry, Kasey and Shane have promised they will also perform a few favourites from their multi-award winning 2008 album Rattlin’ Bones.
The duo will be joined on the road with special guests – the legendary Bill Chambers and Tamworth’s first lady of fiddle, Ashleigh Dallas.
The Little Birds and Bad Machines Tour will be held at Twin Towns, with the just announced date of Friday
May 6.
