Friends of the ABC (Armidale) will be holding a benefit night on Thursday March 15, 7pm at the Belgrave Cinema, showing the widely acclaimed film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (MA 15+).
Tickets will be $15 for the general public and $13 for members of Friends of the ABC (if purchased and collected by Tuesday March 13). Proceeds will go towards a donation to the International Film Festival, since the local ABC Radio Station has been an active sponsor for the Film Festival in the past.
“Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”, which has been popular with audiences and critics alike, is an adaptation of the John Le Carre novel of the same name. It has been praised for the skilful adaptation of the novel, the taut direction by Thomas Alfredson (“Let the Right One In”) and the excellent acting of its celebrated cast. It stars Gary Oldham (Harry Potter), Colin Firth, Benedict Cumerbatch (Sherlock), Ciaran Hinds (Calendar Girls) and John Hurt.
Tickets may be purchased from members of the Committee, including Bronwyn Meredith (Ph 6772 7065) and Jan McKelvey (6772 5856). (Messages can be left at both numbers.)
Tickets may also be purchased at the CGU Insurance Office 108 Beardy St (opposite the Royal Hotel) during business hours.
Tickets may be available at the Belgrave on the evening of March 15. However the committee suggests that tickets are booked early as there is considerable interest about this film and tickets are selling quickly.
