Lindisfarne gets Footloose

They usually hold a production every second year but, taking advantage of their brand-new venue – known affectionately as The Shed – Lindisfarne are about to tread the boards for the second year in a row.
And following hot on the heels of last year’s smash hit, Jungle Book, the talented youngsters up there on the hill at Terranora are bringing Footloose to the Tweed.
The Broadway hit production explodes onto the stage with electrifying dance routines, colourful costumes and a score full of classic anthems that defined the 80s. See Footloose for three nights only, from Wednesday, June 20 to Friday, June 22.
An outstanding cast and crew of 200 talented performers from Lindisfarne Grammar have enthusiastically prepared for this musical over the past two terms rehearsing, singing, learning lines, practising dance routines and designing costumes and sets.
Well-known local theatre identity Ms Tracey Kriz, Artistic Director of this latest production, said the show had proven very engaging for the students – particularly the older ones.
“This show is a perfect combin-ation of music, laughter and spirit, while the storyline portrays a deep and meaningful message,” Tracey, the school’s director of creative arts, said.
“The magnificent set (built at the school by artist Michael Stanton-Cook) provides a back-drop to showcase our talented performers and the quality of the show is testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment that our students have all shown to bring this musical to life.”
This extravaganza will not only get you to kick off your Sunday shoes but will knock your socks off too.
Assigned seating is still avail-able for some of the evening performances and bookings can be made by following the link on www.lindisfarne.nsw.edu.au. Limited tickets will be available for purchase at the door on the night.
