Stand-out shows open at NERAM

Michelle Hungerford, Kerry Gulliver and Hayley Ward.
Regional artists and the local landscape starred at the New England Regional Art Museum’s latest exhibition openings. The special occasion was the opening of two new selling exhibitions.
Surface Tension features artworks by Hayley Ward and Kerry Gulliver. Using en-caustic, felt, paint and plaster, these two artists explore the use of texture, colour, mixed media and multi-layering techniques to create abstract landscapes that are subtly evocative of the Australian bush.
Creek Lines showcases enchanting botanical works by Nadia Waters. The artist is a natural history illustrator and presents the viewer with small windows into the world of the frogs, butterflies, and birds inhabiting the willows and grasses inhabiting the Black Gully creek land located behind NERAM.
Tamworth-based fellow artist Michele Hungerford opened the shows, commending the artists for their hard work, commitment to the artistic process and creativity.
“It’s very important that we promote and market the talents we have here in Armidale and the New England Region,” said NERAM Director, Caroline Downer, highlighting the importance of NERAM as a venue for local artists to display their work.
All the artworks on display are for sale and the exhibitions run until November 11.
