Sound & Fury return to Kentucky

Sound & Fury, the Vaudeville-Nouveau troupe from Los Angeles, are coming to Kentucky as part of their 2012 World Tour. They will be performing their new work, Doc Faustus, at the Kentucky Memorial Hall on Friday March 23 at 8pm.
“Arts North West is excited to be supporting the group on their tour to this region,” said Heidi Ford, Regional Touring Coordinator at Arts North West.
“Sound & Fury have performed to over 600,000 people at Renaissance and Comedy Festivals around the world and I cannot wait for New England audiences to have the chance to enjoy their latest work.”
Doc Faustus is eighth in a series of genre-parody plays that Sound & Fury have written. They describe it as “a silly romp in the Old West, filtered through the eyes of Christopher Marlowe’s famous soul-seller, Doctor John Faustus.”
The group, made up of three Los Angeles-based performers: Richard Maritzer, Patrick Hercamp and Ryan Adam Wells, will be performing across the region in March.
“We are very fortunate that this internationally renowned group have a strong attachment to our region,” said Ms Ford.
Sound & Fury have been one of the top-reviewed shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. They have received “Best of Fringe” at the Winnipeg & Edmonton Canada International Fringe Festivals in 2006 & 2007 and they are three-time winners of the People’s Choice Award at the Adelaide Australia Fringe Festival.
Tickets $20 adults and $15 students. Available from Kentucky General Store, phone 6778 7320 or at the door.
While in the region, they will also be performing their production of “Hamlet & Juliet” to schools in Tenterfield, Armidale, Bingara and Barraba.
