If you love a laugh, then you need to get yourself down to Cabarita Comedy Central. The Cabarita Beach Sports Club is kicking off its very own comedy club with none other than stand-up comedian Mandy Nolan at the helm.
“I can’t wait to bring the best comics in the country to Cabba,” Mandy said. “There’s just so much great talent out there! You’ll never need to leave Cabarita again!’
Mandy Nolan has been a stand-up comedian for over two decades, she’s worked with Ertha Kitt, Whoopi Goldberg, Bob Downe (to name a few) and appeared on countless programs on the ABC and SBS as a featured comic and social commentator.
As a mother of five, she takes a suburban perspective and adds an evil twist. Audiences up and down the coast have been falling for Nolan and her wicked charm. “If you can’t laugh at yourself,” she jokes, “then get out of the house and come and laugh at me!”
For the first show at Cabarita Beach Sports Club, Nolan has invited two of her comedic buddies to share the stage: Nick Penn and Paul McMahon.
Nick Penn has worked full-time in show business for over 25 years. Originally based in Sydney, Nick has spent the past few years honing his craft. Dynamic, in your face with a real knockabout Aussie sense of humour, Nick is the master of creating comedy that’s not just funny, it’s clean.
“It’s the kind of show you could take your Nanna to,” he boasts.
“And I suggest you do, because she makes an awesome designated driver.”
His dry wit has audiences all around the country screaming for more. He’s also appeared on a range os Aussie TV shows aimed at both children and adults and he worked in broadcasting for two years on 2Day FM, Sydney’s number one rating radio station, including a year with “The Morning Crew”.
His comedy style is energetic and easy-going all at once.
Nick is joined by Paul McMahon, a QLD finalist for Melbourne international comedy festivals RAW comedy competition, winner of the Big Joke’s Village Idiot, and the new hot property at the Gold Coast’s Comedy in the Basement.
