FORMER Australian Idol winner Wes Carr is set to showcase his brand new album at a free concert at the Coolangatta Sands on Sunday afternoon.
With a rustic, yet expressive nature reminiscent of Angus Stone, coupled with spirit and storytelling talents akin to Woody Guthrie, Wes Carr has a keen musical ear for the past coupled with an appreciation of the contemporary.
Carr, who won the coveted Australian Idol program back in 2008, has released his third studio LP under the name Buffalo Tales. Roadtrip Confessions spins universal tales of hard-bitten love, travel, and the eternal search for happiness and salvation.
At the age of 30, Carr’s lyrics convey experiences of a soul well-wandered; of a man who has walked through the fire and paid more than his share of dues, yet has emerged on the other side enlightened from his experiences.
As a metaphoric symbol, Buffalo Tales serves as Carr’s farewell to the past, where the music and emotions of Roadtrip Confessions illustrate a mission statement for the future: heartfelt, acoustic songs, with zero gimmicks.
Buffalo Tales will be performing Roadtrip Confessions LIVE at the Coolangatta Sands on Sunday 27 July from 3pm, with support of local band, Chad.
