A wonderful weekend of nonstop art will be begin this Friday October 28 at the New England Regional Art Museum.
Packsaddle is pleased to invite you to the 2011 exhibition to celebrate 26 years of fundraising for NERAM. Opening 6pm Friday October 28, Packsaddle offers a wonderful opportunity for the local community to purchase a piece of art from one of the many invited artists.
The Packsaddlers are a group of local art appreciators who organise a yearly event to raise funds for NERAM. Many of the invited artists are represented in commercial galleries in Sydney and are well known and highly collectable. Individual artists also send work to be exhibited and with over 300 works on offer there is plenty to choose from.
One of Packsaddle’s featured artists, Madeleine Winch, will be giving a talk about her work on Saturday October 29 at 11am.
The weekend culminates with the Great ArtPlay Day on Sunday, October 30 between 11am and 3pm. A collaboration between Friends of NERAM and the New England Regional Art Museum, the Great ArtPlay Day is an opportunity for local families to enjoy a range of creative activities for all ages and collaborate with local artists. Tickets are from $3 and are available at the door.
There will also be free activities on offer including chalk drawing outside on the concrete, pencil drawings in the gallery and glove balloons. Buskers from the New England Conservatorium of Music will be there to accompany the art activities.
