Unusualist proves a curiosity

By TANIA PHILLIPS

YOU may not have heard the name but chances are you’ve caught at least a small portion of what performer Raymond Crowe does.
He became an internet sensation when his beautiful shadow-puppet version of the Louis Armstrong classic “Wonderful World” went viral – even if you aren’t computer literate, chances are you got to see the amazing images he could produce with just his hands and a light.
Crowe is the “Unusualist” and now he is coming back to Australia and playing our own Twin Towns with his new work of wonder “Curiosities”. His show is a dazzling display of skills and artistry rarely seen on the world stage.
Be enchanted by his imaginative creations and collections of ventriloquism, smoke painting, puppetry, performing fleas, shadow play, comedy, silhouette cutting and featuring his 19th Century “Physionotranec” machine which has to be seen to be believed!
From his memorable appearances on Spicks and Specks to wowing international audiences at the Royal Gala Performance, Raymond is pleased to be returning to the Australian stage.
