A celebration of classic OZ rock

Armidale residents are in for a treat, with classic OZ rock bands performing at Petersons Winery on Saturday, March 10, 2012 in the first leg of the national concert series, ‘‘A Day on the Green’.
Noiseworks, Ian Moss, Ross Wilson, Richard Clapton, Dragon and Choirboys will perform in a five-hour musical feast; a celebration of the Australian rock music history they have so vibrantly helped define.
Aussie classics like ‘Take Me Back’, ‘Touch’, ‘Love Somebody’, ‘No Lies’, ‘Tucker’s Daughter’, ‘Bow River’, ‘When The War Is Over’, ‘Eagle Rock’, ‘Come Said The Boy’, ‘Cool World’, ‘Girls On The Avenue’, ‘Capricorn Dancer’, ‘April Sun In Cuba’, ‘Are You Old Enough’, ‘Run To Paradise’ and ‘Boys Will Be Boys’, to name just a few.
This summer marks the 11th year of ‘A Day on the Green’.  After close to 300 shows and more than two million happy patrons, the ‘A Day on the Green’ experience of good food, good wine and great music is firmly established as one of Australia’s most popular concert events.
The event is renowned for its wonderful line-ups and for this first show in the New England Tablelands, Petersons Winery promises to be one giant sing-a-long of home-grown hits!
‘A Day on the Green’ is a general admission concert and encourages patrons to bring rugs, deck chairs and their own picnic food, or alternatively purchase food on site from quality local providers.  With a magnificent location, classic rock all day long and tickets at just $89 – it sounds like a sensational value-for-money party day to us!
