During the past three months my wife and I have been suffering from the cold weather (this morning it was minus 7, and most others minus something or other) both inside and outside our home.
We are pensioners and due to the “generosity” of our PM Julia Gillard, we have not been able to purchase vast amounts of wood, consequently our home has not been as warm as it might! Prior to our life savers and kindly neighbours.
Recently these thoughtful folk delivered enormous amounts of wood which provided ecstatic warmth to our home that should see us right until this severe winter ends. We choose not to mention their names for the sake of embarrassment. These are “True Blue Aussies” who should be honoured with a medal equal to the “Victoria Cross”.
There may be some other “oldies” like us, who have endured a similar situation. Think of all Pensioners…show some compassion. Remember, you have an election coming up in 2013 and the admission of “asylum seekers” and the “freebies” they receive, you certainly won’t get our vote, and many other electors’ as well.
