Today, my six-year-old son noted the Page 3 girl in the Tweed Coast Weekly and asked, “Mum, why do they have this picture of this lady in here?”
I invite the Tweed Coast Weekly to provide an explanation for my son. Why do you have pictures of women in g-strings, in near orgasm poses and undoing their pants in the local paper?
My immediate thought is that your copy must be lacking in quality if you need to provide such images to gain readership. Or do you just want to be known as the Tweed’s talboid trash?
In our democratic society, adults are free to express themselves and may choose what images they wish to view. Thus, sexual and pornographic images are freely available on the internet and in newsagencies.
So why is the Tweed Coast Weekly insistent on delivering it to my mailbox each week? I thought Page 3 girls were icons of the past. Very tacky Weekly.
My address is supplied – please refrain from delivering your paper to my home.
