Energy for local industries, what rubbish! As if a local methane burning power station would be built to provide cheap power for local industries. The Coal Seam Gas industry is all about providing gas for export to China, involving a pipeline to Ipswich and then to Gladstone Port. To whose benefit? Santos and Petro- China!
CSG has a different calorific value to LPG (bottled gas) and cannot easily be used as a substitute in the home.
Landholders have the right to refuse access to CSG explorers and they would be wise to do so. If CSG explorers are allowed access, you will lose the management of your property. Many farmers in QLD and NSW have found this out. Please do your research and place a “Lock the Gate” sign to “lock them out”!
This industry certainly cannot be trusted, the many health risks are too great, Scientists and Medical Doctors have well documented this.
The Victorian government recently has called a halt to all hydraulic fracturing and new CSG exploration licences, introducing a moratorium last Friday that state energy and resources minister Michael O’Brien says will remain until a national framework for regulating CSG and hydraulic fracturing can be established by federal government. If only the NSW Government were “committed” to the welfare of people instead of this insidious CSG.
