Recently I visited Armidale with my wife who is doing a course by correspondence through UNE. I was rather disappointed with information about the district.
We spent four days in Armidale, our accom-modation was quite adequate and the staff was most helpful, which is more than I can say for many other businesses in the district.
So many businesses are self-centred, some cannot be helpful regarding like products; that they would rather sell you something that you don’t want or need.
I appreciate that there are signposts to point you in the general direction of tourist destinations, then you spend an hour trying to actually locate the tourist destination.
I also had issues gathering information on one business in particular in Armidale, to the stage of being quite happy to drive another hour north where the people could not help but being helpful.
Upon returning home I will not hesitate to recommend those businesses outside the area rather than in the vicinity of our Armidale.
