I would like to applaud the decision by the Government and our local Federal Member Justine Elliot for coming through for families like mine with the School Kids Bonus. Raising kids can be hard work and this bonus comes at exactly the right time for both myself and my husband.
The insinuation by some like Tony Abbott (who wouldn’t have a clue what it’s like to be a working mum) that all this will just be spent on booze and cigarettes is downright offensive. With this bonus I can now buy some well overdue essentials for my three kids, such as bags and books that our budget would have otherwise prevented till at least Christmas. So thank you, Justine.
