Holly Kay will celebrate her first Mother’s Day this Sunday with her new born baby girl in her arms.
Iris Anne Kay was born on 1 May 2013 at Werribee Mercy Hospital, weighing 4.1 kilograms.
She has made her mother and father very happy.
“We will be home in time for Mother’s Day and we will spend it together as a family, the three of us,” Mrs Kay said.
“It will be nice to be a mummy on Mother’s Day.”
Mrs Kay will also receive her first Mother’s Day gift on Sunday.
“Daddy’s got something planned but I’m not allowed to know what,” she laughed.
Mrs Kay is looking forward to getting to know her daughter.
“We’ve got the nursery all set up, its all painted pink for her, ready for when she comes home.”
“I want to take her for lots of walks and get some fresh air and get to know each other,” she said.
“And take lots of photos, we’ve already taken a fair few photos.”
Mrs Kay is still in awe of her beautiful baby girl.
“It’s exciting, we keep looking at her, we can’t take our eyes off her,” she said.
“It was amazing when they first showed her to us and put her in my arms.”
Iris was named after Mr and Mrs Kay’s favourite song and their wedding song Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls.
She was given her middle name Anne to follow in tradition with her mother’s middle name and her grandmother’s middle name, also Anne.
