Road works continue

WYNDHAM residents will notice a few changes as they drive around the municipality with the council spending about $9 million to reconstruct 31 residential roads.
The latest projects to be completed are in Wyndham Vale, with works on North Gateway, Botanic Way, Grazier Court, High St, Pitta Close and Samuel Court finished in late April 2013.
Novawest Contracting are currently working on Mirambeek Road, Buckhurst Way and Tucker Court with works nearing completion on Albatross Ave, Kramer St, Dove St, Sandpiper St, Cormorant Crescent, Ibis Court, Sibley St and Stilt Court.
Councillor Shane Bourke said these road reconstructions were part of the extensive 2012/2013 road works budget.
“Wyndham City is spending $29.13 million upgrading, maintaining and constructing roads across the municipality in the 2012-13 financial year,” Cr Bourke said.
“While many of our road projects are aimed at accommodating our rapid growth, these projects also ensure the council’s older roads are maintained safely and continue to serve the community well into the future.”
