WERRIBEE business owners have united to make a mum’s day.
Chery D’Rozario from Werribee was announced as the winner of a Mother’s Day competition held in the city centre earlier this month.
The competition, organised by the Werribee Chamber of Commerce, encouraged residents to shop locally for the chance to win the perfect day out for one lucky mum.
Chatterbox Café, Dorothy’s of Werribee, Fifth Element Day Spa, Gift Givers Gallery, Master Dry Cleaners, Quest Qerribee, Snapshot Studio, The Park Hotel and Tonia T Boutique all came together to offer separate prizes for the winner.
Ms D’Rozario, who has two young children, said she was shocked to find out that she was the winner of the competition.
“I was quite surprised actually. It was very much a surprise for me,” Ms D’Rozario said.
“These are all shops that we’ve shopped at for years and it’s good to be able to support the local community and win something for it.
“It feels more familiar.”
Chair of the Werribee Chamber of Commerce, Tonia Tribe, said she was excited to see a well-deserving mum take out the competition.
“It’s good to have someone who was so excited to win,” Ms Tribe said.
“We hope she gets really pampered for the day.”
