Traders’ view

A SURVEY will soon ask traders what are the most pressing issues facing businesses in Footscray.
The Footscray Traders Association is conducting a survey to find out what businesses need to improve and continue to trade in Footscray.
Association president Kylee Alderton said members would soon be hitting the streets to have a casual chat with traders.
“We feel that business people will find it a comfortable way to have their views heard, just by talking to a fellow trader,” he said.
The survey will give traders a chance to find out more about the association and how they and their businesses can benefit from involvement.
“We know people are busy so we plan to be friendly, but sensitive about our timing in conducting the survey. We have nothing to sell,” Mr Alderton said.
The survey follows the recent growth associated with the Nicholson St Mall upgrade and will capture the views of new Footscray businesses. Business owner Lydia Cammarano said she has seen many changes in her 20 years in Barkly St.
“I am excited by this latest phase of growth in Footscray and all that is happening with the Footscray Traders Association,” she said.
The survey results will be compiled and announced at a networking event to be held later this year.
