Bypass jump start

WORK on the $19.2 million Plummer St truck bypass was under way in Port Melbourne last week.
The bypass is expected to redirect trucks from residential areas such as Williamstown Rd, and provide direct access to the West Gate Freeway from industrial areas such as the Port of Melbourne.
Works will include the extension of Prohasky St to the north, connecting to the West Gate Freeway entry ramp at Todd Rd, as well as upgrading Plummer St between Prohasky and Graham streets, Port Melbourne.
Minister for Roads and Ports Tim Pallas said the bypass will be a bonus for residents in Williamston Rd who live west of Graham St.
