THE No Freeway for West Footscray group is planning a public rally in June as part of its on-going fight to stop the Victorian Transport Plan’s proposed road tunnel.
The group, which is calling on residents to write to State MP Marsha Thomson about the plan, said it was important to keep up momentum.
“It’s an ongoing campaign and it’s going to be a long one,” Lucy Liga from No Freeway for West Footscray said. The group is also challenging the proposed Truck Action Plan and road link.
The proposals are dependent on State and Federal Government funding, including the upcoming batch of grants from Infrastructure Australia.
Infrastructure Australia will deliver a priority list of works later this month. The Victorian Transport Plan was displayed at a meeting last night in Sunshine.
