No action on Francis Street

VICROADS has still not started on priority road works along Francis St more than a month after they were due to take place.
The roads body committed $180,000 earlier this year to undertake major construction works along Francis St between Millers Rd and the railways.
Works included sealing the shoulders of the road with asphalt to decrease dust and remove all traffic hazards, such as pot holes and edge drop-offs.
The works were scheduled for June.
VicRoads has told the Brooklyn Community Reference Group that the delay was due to the presence of a major gas main that is located under the shoulders.
VicRoads is currently considering alternative treatments for the road shoulders, and hopes to undertake the works between mid July and mid August.
