FORGET Ms Newton-John, another Olivia is set for the stage.
In between lessons studying education at Victoria University in Footscray, Olivia Scalzo is paving her path to Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, one script at a time.
Holding an interest in performing since she was three, the now 21-year-old said she’s ready to break into the industry.
“A few years ago I decided to take a step back from acting to explore other areas of my life. But now, I’m ready to take on the challenge,” Olivia said.
Inspired by Australian TV-turned Hollywood actors, Olivia hopes to make it in the US alongside idols Chris Hemsworth and Rachael Taylor.
“Their stories are really inspirational. Just yesterday Chris Hemsworth was on Home and Away and now he’s sought after in the States. That’s the path I want to follow,” she added.
After hanging up her dancing shoes as a child, Olivia is now trying her hand at modelling to expand her portfolio.
“Acting is an escape for me. It’s not everyday you can be a Goth or the girl next door, but I’m lucky enough I get to slip into any character as part of my work”.
Since acquiring an agent, Olivia has attended auditions and has been approached for some feature film jobs. But she’s not giving anything away.
“You’ll just have to wait and see,” she said.
