PROFESSOR Duncan Bentley has been appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Planning, Marketing and External Affairs at Victoria University.
Professor Bentley takes up his appointment in December.
He is currently Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Curtin Business School at Curtin University in Perth. Previously he was pro vice-chancellor teaching and learning and dean of law at Bond University.
An expert on international taxation law, Professor Bentley is a member of several boards and committees, including the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s International Legal Services Advisory Council.
Professor Bentley said he was very excited to be taking on this strategic role in an ambitious university.
“Victoria University, which is based in the fastest growing region of Australia, has enormous potential to become a leading university in the next decade, particularly at a time when we need higher participation in tertiary education among students from diverse backgrounds,” he said.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter Dawkins said he was delighted that Professor Bentley was joining the university.
