RON Palmer has been organising Carols by Candlelight at the Yarraville Gardens since 1994, and he has invited residents to join this year’s event on Saturday.
The Footscray-Yarraville City Band, soprano Margaret Haggart, the Choral Institute of Melbourne, a closing fireworks display and an appearance by Father Christmas will all feature during the festivities.
The night is supported by the Rotary Club of Yarraville, the Rotary Club of West Footscray and assisted by the Maribyrnong City Council.
Food, beverages and candles will be available for purchase on the evening. The free event will begin 7pm at the Yarraville Gardens, Hyde St, Yarraville.
