New line to raise funds for Scope

BRIMBANK City Council is collecting unwanted mobile phones for reuse or recycling as part of a Scope and Aussie Recycling Program initiative.
The recycling program aims to help stop millions of unwanted mobile phones from leaking highly toxic chemicals into landfill.
Unwanted mobile phones can be placed in the clearly marked boxes provided at the council’s Harvester Customer Service Centre, Hampshire Rd, Sunshine, and Keilor Customer Service Centre, Old Calder Highway, Keilor.
Scope is a not-for-profit organisation that provides services for Victorian children and adults with disabilities and receives a donation for every unwanted mobile telephone, working and non-working, collected.
Since the program began in Brimbank earlier this year, a total of 59 mobile phones have been recycled through the council.
