A KEILOR woman who was missing for nearly a week has been located safe and well in Adelaide.
Ruza Vrselja, 56, had not made contact with her husband and her two sons since the disappearance last Monday.
The Croatian-born woman was last seen in Moonee Ponds at a bank and a post office after catching public transport from her home at 1pm.
Her disappearance was seen as out of character, Keilor Downs police Sergeant Robert Henley said.
Sgt Henley said the family was concerned for her welfare, as she had not contacted anyone before Sunday.
Mrs Vrselja’s son, Bruno, said the family was “worried sick” during Mrs Vrselja’s disappearance.
The Vrselja family has lived in Keilor for 18 years.
Bruno Vrselja said it was uncommon for his mother to go away without notice as she usually stayed home and did housework.
Her outside trips would include grocery shopping and visiting a family member at a nursing home.
She was described as a happy person who is “nice towards anyone”.
Her English was good and she did not have any medical conditions, Mr Vrselja said.
He said the family could not think of a reason why she would go away.
Sgt Henley said police were advised of a possible sighting of Mrs Vrselja on a train near Bacchus Marsh before her appearance.
