Dominic, 11, lost his dad Peter to melanoma five years ago, and is using his dad’s memory as his inspiration for this year’s World’s Greatest Shave.
“He wants to do something good to improve research, and he’s also keen to do something a bit novel at school,” mum Louise said.
It’s the second year the grade six Kingsville Primary School student is shaving it all off for charity, and he hopes to raise $500 from the big chop.
Over 125,000 people are expected to join Dominic next month and shave or colour their hair.
All money raised will fund free services to support patients and families living with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and blood disorders.
It will also fund blood cancer research to find better treatment and cures. More than 2500 Victorians are diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. To sponsor Dominic, call 1800 500 088 or visit www.worldsgreatestshave.com
