Group bashes St Albans teenager

POLICE are searching for a group of men who bashed and robbed a 19-year-old St Albans man while he was walking home earlier this month.
The teenager was walking to his home in Pennell Ave, St Albans, about 9.30pm on Thursday, 7 December when a group of between five and seven men approached him and attacked him with an iron bar, stealing the man’s wallet and a gold chain he was wearing.
According to police, nearby residents came out after hearing the victim call out, but his attackers had left.
The man was taken to Sunshine Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and treated for head and leg injuries.
Police spokesperson Senior Constable Adam West said police were investigating the incident and no arrests had been made.
