POLICE are pleading for witnesses following an armed robbery at the Sunshine Hungry Jacks restaurant last Wednesday night.
The robbery happened when the store’s manager returned to the Ballarat Rd premises shortly after lock-up, when she realised she had left lights on inside.
The manager was confronted by a man wielding a knife shortly before 11.30pm, who demanded money and keys to the safe, before stabbing her in the face.
The bandit took the manager’s keys and stole her car, before crashing it into a tree at the intersection of Hertford Rd and Duke St. He was picked up by another person driving a light metallic blue Holden Calais or Berlina sedan.
