THOMAS The Tank Engine will be rolling into Braybrook College this weekend as part of Sunshine Model Railway Club’s Model Train Exhibition.
The club’s president Joe Saliba is excited.
“When I was a child, I always loved trains and I’m still loving trains now,” he said.
A highlight would be “seeing the kids’ faces when they see Thomas The Tank going by,” Mr Saliba said.
Children will be able to drive the train for 50 cents.
Mr Saliba said the club had worked hard to keep costs low so it was accessible to everyone.
“It’s a bit too expensive for the club to own [the trains].
“And in a way…we can operate our trains and have a good time too,” he said.
More than 40 exhibits will be on display at the Braybrook College Sports Stadium, and Mr Saliba expects the exhibition to be a hit with children.
The Model Train Exhibition will be held 18-19 August from 9.30am to 5pm at Braybrook College Sports Stadium on Burke St.
Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for children, and $12 for the family. Enquiries, contact Ted on 9311 8389.
